As part of the conference we will organise a research workshop titled DigitalScape. Digital technologies create a completely new world, parallel to the reality, a labyrinth of the virtual. They affect all aspects of our creative work and at all scales.
From analysis, which uses satellite imagery for identifying heat islands, to Lidar, which captures space with millimetre accuracy. Even our atmosphere has a digital twin to assist in weather forecasting. Will we also have digital twins of our landscapes to work with different development scenarios?
At the workshop, we want to focus on technologies that introduce new challenges in our approach to teaching. Our discussions will emerge around the following quesions:
- How can landscape architecture benefit from digital transformation?
- When does data overload begin?
- How will digital technologies affect the study of landscape architecture?
